The masterworks of surveys and quizzes are ahead of the game, allowing you to work with ease. In this article, we will show you the quickest and simplest way to create a quiz for your website, saving you time and effort searching for solutions elsewhere on the web. But first, let’s find out how your WordPress website can benefit from adding a quiz to it.
Why should you create a quiz for your WordPress website?
There’s no doubt about it – online quizzes are a lot of fun! On top of that, you can always count on learning something new. Because of their dynamic nature, users enjoy them more than other forms.
Online quizzes have been used by marketers to gather contact information since the beginning of the web. Asking for an email address can help you in many ways besides just sending quiz answers to the user. You can also use this opportunity to invite them to sign up for your newsletter, subscribe to your YouTube channel, or do anything else you might find useful.
You can also increase your social media shares by a significant amount simply by having visitors share their outcomes with you. If you need inspiration, BuzzFeed’s quizzes are the gold standard for what it means to go viral. Their quizzes have been shared among millions of users worldwide.
Let’s take an example – say you sell online courses on your WordPress website. Creating different quizzes is a great way to test students’ knowledge and reinforce what they’ve learned. In addition to being a simple method to enhance the learning experience, these quizzes can be generated automatically. Or, if you own an online shop, you could even design a quick quiz that asks the customer a few questions and makes a recommendation based on their responses. This is a more interesting alternative to having customers read product descriptions and may result in more purchases being made.
With that out of the way, let’s check out how simple it is to create a quiz in WordPress.
How to quickly and easily create a quiz in WordPress?
For this guide, we’ll use the Formidable Forms plugin which is one of the most popular WordPress forms plugins out there. Once installed on your website, you can use it to create various forms, such as those for requesting information, registering for events, and making reservations. It’s a powerful quiz plugin for WordPress that features an intuitive drag-and-drop builder for making complex tests. Now let’s find out how to use it in order to to create great quizzes for your WordPress website.
Do keep in mind that the Quiz Maker addon is only available with the Formidable Forms Business plan. In order to use it, you first need to install and activate this plugin. This step is pretty straightforward as you’ll only need to follow the instructions from the screen. Once you install and activate the Formidable Forms plugin, you’ll need to install the Quiz Maker add-on, too.
How to create a quiz in WordPress using the Formidable Forms plugin?
To start creating your quiz, go to the Formidable Forms plugin on your WordPress dashboard, click on “Forms” and simply select the “Add New” button. This will bring up a window listing all of the plugin’s pre-made templates. You can find templates for a mortgage calculator and a booking form, for example.
However, as we want to show you how to build your quiz from scratch, click on the “Blank Form” option. After that, you can give your form a title in the “Form Name” area and add a description if you like. Just hit the “Create” button once you’re done. Clicking this will launch the Formidable Forms editor.
When you look on the right, you’ll see a preview of your quiz, while on the left, you’ll see a list of the many types of fields you can use to customize it. You can use quizzes for different purposes, from gathering consumer feedback and doing market research to testing knowledge and enhancing a WordPress blog’s user experience.
Depending on the nature of the quiz you’re making, you may need a variety of fields. You can make a variety of multiple-choice and other types of questions. Simply grab a field from the left sidebar and drop it into the live preview to add it to your quiz. It’s really as simple as that.
Finishing up your quiz
Assuming the visual design of your quiz has been finalized, you can go on to setting up the quiz’s proper answers and how the user’s score is shown. Select “Actions & Notifications” from the “Settings” menu to accomplish this. To view your score, select the “Scored quiz” tab. Here you’ll see that this function has certain pre-configured options.
The “Randomize questions” and “Randomize options” toggles are off by default. However, you can easily turn them on if you need to. Next, it’s time to specify the right responses (assuming that you’re building a knowledge test). To do this, select the option to “Customize Quiz Scoring“. You may quickly add the right response by toggling the switch next to each question and typing the answers into a text box. Selecting a value from the dropdown menu indicates whether you want the user’s response to mirror this content exactly, contain some of this text, or contain none of this text.
This plugin also allows you to decide whether you want to show the score to users or have them insert their email addresses and receive answers there. Once you’re happy with your quiz, click on “Save” and you can proceed to add it to any post or page on your WordPress website.
For instance, if you want to add the quiz to a page, simply navigate to Pages » Add New in your WordPress dashboard. The ‘+’ button within the editor’s window allows you to insert a brand-new section of content. Enter “Formidable Forms” into the search bar and then drag the appropriate block into your article. Next, click the arrow next to “Select a form” to reveal your options. Then select an existing quiz, and WordPress will immediately load it.
